Exercise is important for healthy body and mind. Traditionally, walking is considered as the simplest exercise outside gym but over the years the definition of exercise has changed and all the more with the coming of the gymnasium or gym. There is no doubt about the fact that gym exercises are important for health and fitness but before starting an exercise program one should first consult their physician. A fitness assessment measures body composition and fitness levels necessary before one joins the gym. All Gym is full of different machines like treadmill, elliptical trainers, and stationary bikes. Each of these are used for a specific exercise purposes.  

Of the most common and known gym exercises are isometric and aerobic exercises. Aerobic exercises are important and some of the common aerobic exercises are walking, jogging, running, climbing stairs, cycling, dancing and swimming. Aerobic activities are exercises that make your heart more efficient and it also helps one breathe faster. These activities enables the individual to take in more oxygen, which is supplied to the large muscles in the arms, legs and the back making it work more efficiently. Apart from aerobic exercises, resistance training is yet another way of keeping oneself fit. Resistance training builds muscles but is effective only if done properly and should always be done under resistance trainer. Resistance body exercises include upper body resistance as well as lower body resistance. So, upper body resistance exercises will work on all the muscles of the upper body by using pushing and pulling exercises. Doing these exercises reduces the chance of muscles fatigue by alternating muscle group. While, lower body resistance exercises work on the major muscles of the lower body. In doing this, the leg press exercise is important as it targets all the leg muscles and to point the toe at the end of the extension to work the calves. Yet another way of resistance is low back resistance that maintains abs and backs in proper form. It is always suggested to do this exercise at last as other exercises use these muscles to stabilize the core. After all these gym exercises workout stretching as it encourages blood flow through the muscles and helps avoid cramping.    

All these common gym exercises are important for the body and to keep it fit and healthy. The joining gym surely takes one towards fitness and builds a healthy mind. So just know properly about gym and enjoy the exercises at the gym you join.
